i dropped my blackberry and the screen shattered. not all nicely and usable, but all glass-splinter-mid-tweet type of shatter. tomorrow i'm going in for an i phone which is bittersweet. i love my blackberry and it's been with me through some crazy times. i took over five hundred pictures with it. here are fifty four of my favorite blackberry gems. happy scrolling!
some good times, eh? congrats for making it this far, scrolling is a ton of work!

let's eat some pie.
at least half of it. once upon a time i decided to create a food blog. the name i wanted was peace love good food. said name was taken. the owner of the blog just happened to be awesome. i now blog creep regularly. a few weeks ago she posted a recipe for fresh berry pie. pie. are you kidding me. well, while scanning stuff at work as berries would come through the lanes it was as if they were taunting me. i had to make pie.
and i'm SO GLAD i did. it was the perfect summer fix, light and fruity. i told myself since it was fruit based it obviously was healthy for you. right? right.
Fresh Berry Pie
recipe via peace love good food
Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
Crust:1/2 cup canola oil2 Tbsp. milk1.5 cups flour1.5 Tbsp. sugar1 tsp. salt
Mix flour, sugar and salt together in a small mixing bowl. Set aside. In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together canola oil and milk. Slowly add the flour mixture to the oil & milk mixture. Mix until it becomes thick and dough like, then transfer to a 9" pie dish. Starting from the center of the dish, spread the crust until it is covering the entire dish. Bake for 7-10 minutes, or until crust starts to brown. Let cool.
Filling:1 pint fresh blueberries1 pint fresh blackberries1 Qt. fresh strawberries, sliced3 Tbsp. corn starch3.5 Tbsp. Mixed Berry Jello1 cup sugar1 and 1/4 cups water
Wash and dry berries, then place inside crust.
Combine starch, Jello and sugar, then set aside. In a small saucepan, bring water to a boil. Slowly add Jello mixture, stirring constantly. Return to a boil and keep it there for 1 minute. Remove from heat and cool.
Drizzle topping over berries and refrigerate for 4-5 hours before serving.'
enjoy yourselves some awesome pie. okay? okay.

what it's like to miss someone.
it's late and i'm feeling reminiscent. when you move a lot, you learn quickly what it's like to miss someone. i always strive to be the kind of person that people miss. i think this has a lot to do with the people in my life who i miss on a regular basis. it's nice to know that i have people in multiple states who always have my back.
so hey, i miss you.
come home soon.

complaints at one AM.
it's one in the morning and i'm not asleep because our basement flooded. i sleep in the basement. i now sleep on the couch. i have browsed every food blog and celebrity update whatever that i can muster up at this hour. however that five foot couch and my six foot self are not quite ready to spend some quality time together. my eye has been twitching for the past three months and won't stop. my mother researched it and said it was either A) too much caffeine B) lack of sleep C) stress
or in some serious cases it could be that disease that jack osbourne just got or inherited or whatever. but my eye is driving me nuts.
also, while attempting to carry like twenty pairs of shoes downstairs today i fell which resulted in a ginormous carpet burn/ patch of leg with no skin. shaving is going to be a p-a-r-t-y.
once when i was at the dentist they told me i only have two wisdom teeth. HALLELUJAH, right? wrong. because as it turns out when two wisdom teeth decide to start growing in, they still cause awesome pain in your mouth. i should probably have those things removed from my mouth soon.
i just finished day three of my ice cream fast. this might seem stupid. IT'S ICE CREAM. i'm addicted to the stuff and have been known to finish off an entire half gallon on a good day...or bad day? it really depends on how you look at it. anyway, this ice cream fast is nowhere near as fun as i thought it would be on Wednesday right after i filled my stomach with delicious ice cream. this is where being stubborn is kind of awesome/ psychotic/ extremely inconvenient. i'm not stopping this fast. i just realized i didn't set an end date...whoops.
speaking of fast.
i just realized that tomorrow is fast Sunday. hurrah. the brain is thinking i should have eaten ice cream today to make up for lost calories tomorrow. even though we all know that after church tomorrow we'll make up for lost calories. or i will.
all complaints aside, it's July now. just so you know.

JUNE.
i had this idea one time. it involved being one of those really crafty bloggers that did stuff. well, i do stuff, i'm just so busy doing it that i forget to post about it...whoops. but actually, will i ever master the art of continuous blogging? maybe when i keep my room clean.
JUNE.
finished junior year and passed all my classes. not that passing has ever been a concern...but i passed.
efy. what a weird year at that place. fun, but weird. still wearing my bracelet trying to get a tan line. mostly because some people doubt my tanning skills. i have them, i just would rather not get skin cancer. spf 50 for this lady.
trek. three days, that's seventy two hours. twenty five of which were spent on a bus, twenty four of which were spent sleeping. the other twenty four? nauvoo, mount pisgah, far west, adam ondai ohman, and endless excitement.
work. hello red and khaki. lots of it.
i guess i should also mention the summer excitement with friends in between all the craziness. it happened. dance about it.

ice cream saturday.
rollerskating, chinese food, walking around wayzata beach with ben and jerry's ice cream cones in hand, cute pictures, convincing my friends to watch a mormon movie, driving around lost in my car, looking at the clock and realizing that the day managed to go by so fast. not wanting it to end. a saturday that was a hopeful glimpse into what will hopefully be a long hot summer.
what a blissful weekend. only four more days until summer. FOUR.

have fun in the motherland.
that is what my birthday card said yesterday. the motherland? that means happy valley. tonight, i'm going back. it is going to be a totally different experience than it would have been if i went in october or even feburary. i'm a completely different person, with a changing personality, changing views, opinions, and an overall different idea of where i want the next year to go. the strange thing is, it doesn't really seem like i'm leaving or that i ever left in the first place. exactly ten months ago today, actually. i'm excited to get to go play with some pretty awesome people for the weekend, watch my best friend graduate, party a little. life is good, you know? i just think that it is so crazy, how different i am now compared to how i was when i left. despite how excited i am to go, i'm not very excited to leave. and by to leave i mean the current state i'm in. but i'm goin' on a jet plane for five days. i'll probs learn a few more valuable life lessons which is always good.
enjoy your memorial day weekend. hopefully it's deliciously food filled.
